CONTEST RULES |
| 1. |
Exhibitor must be an individual who is an OLEY FAIR area resident (see page 10, rule 3 of Oley Valley Community Fair Book). |
| 2. |
Entry must be a cake made from scratch using "PEQAP" eggs. |
| 3. |
Cake must be submitted for judging on cardboard (no doily required). |
| 4. |
Recipe(s) listing the ingredients and the preparation instructions must be submitted along with thte end cap showing the "PEQAP" emblem. |
| 5. |
Cake may be iced or filled. |
| 6. |
Any entry that requires refrigeration after baking will not be accepted for food safety reasons (ex: no whipping cream, frozen toppings, cream cheese, custards, etc.) |

Judging will be based on the following: |

*Overall appearance - surface, size color |
| |
*Inside characteristics - texture, crunch, lightness |
| |
*Flavor - smell, taste, flavoring |
| |
*Creativity - topping, icing, or decoration |
| 8. |
Entries will be accepted Monday or Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Oley Valley Fair Centre. Entries must be removed at 9:30 p.m. Saturday. |
PRIZES: 1ST=$50 2ND=$40 3RD= $30 4TH=$20 5TH=$10
First place winner is eligible for the PA Farm Show competition.
PRIZES FOR PA FARM SHOW WINNERS: 1ST=$500 2ND=$250 3RD= $100

Bake your favorite Pennsylvania Dutch shoo-fly pie to enter
in our special contest.
All pie entries must be accompanied by the recipe typewritten
it legibly printed on a 5x8" card. Every ingredient must
be listed in exact measurements.
"Golden Barrel" molasses or table syrup MUST be used in pie and listed in recipe.
Pies will be judged on the following basis: overall
appearance; crust - color, flavor, texture, and doneness;
filling - flavor and doneness.
