Dear Fair Friends:
I have come to the conclusion that there are just not enough ways to say “Thank You” to the hundreds of volunteers who each year work tirelessly to prepare and present the annual event we run each and every September on the Oley Valley Fairgrounds.
In today’s society, success of an organization like this remains dependant on the volunteers who come forth and give of their time and talent. As you come to the Oley Valley Community Fair each year, I would hope that you recognize that what you see is all done by volunteers.
Whether it is the decorating of the exhibits, the preparation of the grounds or the food being prepared and served, it is all done by individuals who recognize the importance of volunteerism.
No matter what your skills or talents are, we always have room for more volunteers and would love for you to join us.
Last year we were all excited to introduce the new French Fry building at the Fair. I am pleased to report that everything went well and the volunteers in that building served over 4 tons of French Fries during the three days of the Fair.
It was a pleasure to be able to hear the satisfaction of the customers as well as the workers in that building commenting on the changes that were made. I told you that although it was a new building, the same great taste of those French Fries would remain !!!
This year we are very pleased to introduce to you an additional Blue Ribbon Sponsor by way of the Reading Eagle Company / Berks Country. They will join National Penn Bank as being our premier Blue Ribbon Sponsors of the Fair. After just a few meetings,
the Reading Eagle / Berks Country agreed that the Oley Valley Community Fair was a partner they wished to join with. I was very pleased to announce their multi year partnership with the Oley Fair. As part of the sponsorship agreement,
the “pole barn building” will be named the Reading Eagle / Berks Country Pole Barn.
As we approach the 67th edition of the Oley Valley Community Fair, this year remains no different as the hard work by many continues in preparation of this great event. This tradition that has been alive and well in the Oley Valley will once again be an event you will not want to miss.
Bring your family and friends and join the many other people that call the Oley Valley Community Fair and the Oley Fairgrounds their homecoming allowing them to “catch up” on everything that transpired for the past year.
I also look forward to “catching up” with all of you during the 67th annual Oley Valley Community Fair. I will see you at the Fair !!!!!!!
